About the State Protocol at the SCTM PR Network Meeting
A meeting of the SCTM Network of Town and Municipal PR Managers on the Implementation and Organization of the State Protocol was held in Belgrade on September 27, 2019, with the participation of more than one hundred representatives of local self-governments, both from information services and persons involved in protocol in their towns and municipalities. Ljudmila Milatovic from the General Secretariat of the Government of the Republic of Serbia transferred her knowledge in this interesting area.
During the event, participants were presented with a handbook on the basics of national and diplomatic protocols, and a PPT presentation with examples of protocol activities, emphasizing the differences of individual rules in specific situations.
During the lecture, the participants had the opportunity to get introduced to the types of protocol, its importance and implementation, and a special part of the presentation was related to the proper addressing, presentation and introduction of the interlocutors. The importance of seating priorities was emphasized, as well as written communication and proper use of titles. There was also a mini-simulation of the agreement signing ceremony illustrating the positive and negative examples, the state symbols, rules for their settings and abuse.
This activity was implemented under the Program "Support to Local Self-Governments in Serbia on the Road to the EU - Second Phase", funded by the Government of Sweden.
