Preparation of Development Plan of Municipality of Bogatić

The initial meeting of Partnership Forum for preparation of Development Plan of the Municipality of Bogatić was organized with the support of Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities on February 21, 2024. On this occasion, the process of preparation of the local Development Plan and analysis of the current situation were presented, with the aim of ensuring active participation of all interested parties.

The Municipality of Bogatić is one of the eight local self-governments benefiting from the support package awarded by SCTM in mid-2023 as part of the EU Exchange 6 Program, which includes support to towns and municipalities in preparation and implementation of Development Plan - the umbrella document of local self-government.

The President of Bogatić Municipality, Milan Damnjanović, pointed out that the Partnership Forum brought together representatives of local self-government, private and civil sectors.

"Our goal is to hear proposals from both institutions and individuals in order to come up with the best solutions. This project has been worked on for the past few months through a series of workshops and activities, and today's meeting is an opportunity to analyze the state and outline of the priority goals of the municipality of Bogatić for the period from 2023 to 2030", said the president of the Municipality of Bogatić.

SCTM General Secretary Nikola Tarbuk highlighted the numerous activities that the Municipality of Bogatić implements with the support of SCTM.

"The key activity during this year is preparation of Development Plan of the Municipality of Bogatić, and the Partnership Forum is an excellent instrument, both for consultations for the preparation of Development Plan, and for creation of partnerships in the local community through broad involvement of all interested parties", Tarbuk explained and added that cooperation through the Partnership Forum, in contrast to the public discussion when the participants consider the draft document at the end of the process, is realized through all key phases of work on Development Plan.

By implementing the SCTM support package for preparation of Development Plan, local self-governments will continue to improve their work, strengthen their capacities, and start reform processes.

The EU Exchange 6 program is financed by the European Union as part of the national IPA 2019 Program, the key partners and competent institutions at the national level are the Ministry of Finance and the Republic Secretariat for Public Policies, along with the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government and the Ministry of European Integration.
