Urban Innovation Fair and MUNI WORLD 2019 Conference

MUNI EXPO is the annual event of the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel [FLAI] and is the most important gathering of this type in the Middle East dedicated to local self-governments. The three-day event will be held from 26 to 28 February 2019 in a pavilion placed at 6000 m², with the presence of some 8,000 senior directors and managers from Israel and foreign local authorities.

MUNI EXPO will present 170 companies, start-ups and municipal accelerators in the field of urban technologies, aimed at providing smart solutions to the diverse challenges faced by local authorities and municipalities. This includes threats to cyber security, transport, infrastructure, construction, engineering, security, defence and more.

MUNI EXPO is attended by mayors and other representatives of local self-governments - city managers, architects, directors of public companies, utility and transport companies, financial managers, information officers, accountants, urban planners, heads of city improvement departments, security officers, managers in the fields of education, social protection, sports and culture, members of city and municipal councils, academic experts, procurement administrators and others. Moreover, the event is also attended by ministers and members of parliaments who cooperate with municipalities.

MUNIWORLD is a conference that is held parallel to the fair and is a separate event that for this year has the main topic of urban security and municipal innovation. Last year's event had over 500 foreign participants, of which 200 were mayors. This year the event will be held in cooperation with the CTED - Executive Directorate of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee.

How do cities cooperate with representatives of the private sector, companies and firms in order to improve the safety of their residents?

How will we do all this without interrupting the daily routine of millions of citizens?

How to deal with growing extremism among different subgroups in the population?

How do we protect cities and take serious safety measures with everyday routine?

MUNI WORLD 2019 will have a special three-day international programme:

26 February - VISITS TO MUNICIPAL INNOVATIVE PROJECTS

Foreign guests can take part FOR FREE in special visits in order to get acquainted with innovative ecosystems owned by Israeli municipalities in different cities across the country.

27 and 28 February - MUNI WORLD

On these two days will be held panels and discussions on municipal innovation and urban security. On 27 February we will focus on public-private partnerships in mitigating security risks at the local level.

GALA COCKTAIL

In the evening of 27 February VIP gala cocktail will be held with a number of prominent representatives from Israel and abroad.

MUNI EXPO

On 27 and 28 February the municipal innovation fair will be held, along with the MUNI WORLD conference.
