LEDER - Local Economic Development - Educational Response

Project LEDER - Local Economic Development - Educational Response financed by USAID is result of joint initiative of SCTM and USAID project Sustainable Local Development.

The project purpose is to through interactive trainings respond on demands for further local economic development.

The project main objective is to improve capacities and skills of the newly elected/appointed local officials and relevant local government executives/practitioners in 32 local governments from 8 inter municipal clusters (Subotica, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Niš, Vranje, Užice, Kraljevo i Novi Pazar) to effectively utilize local economic development mechanisms and tools through combination of training, coaching and web-based distance learning programs.

Project is implementing through three groups of activities

First group of activities are related to increasing knowledge and skills of LSGs representatives of the city/municipal assemblies and councils on local economic development context and management, through delivering regional trainings "Local Economic Development - Legal and Institutional Context and Management" in each IMC

 

Second group of activities are related to consultative support in identification and implementation of specific/concrete LED activities in 8 clusters.

Third group of activities is related to development and implementation of the web-based distance learning course for LED practitioners. Course has four modules:

  • LED legal and institutional context
  • Instruments for LED Investment
  • Attraction and Retention
  • Public private partnerships

The project is being implemented in the period from May, 2013 to April, 2014.
