Colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina Visit SCTM

As part of a study visit, colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM). The delegation included Prim. Dr Goran Čerkez, Assistant Minister for Public Health at the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr Milan Latinović, Adviser to the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, representatives of local government associations from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska and Brčko District, as well as representatives of local self-governments. The study visit was organized within the framework of the “Healthy Communities” project, implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the support of the Government of Switzerland, with the aim of strengthening the focus of the health system on disease prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles in local communities. The visit to SCTM was organized with the aim of exchanging experiences and good practices, both in the field of public health and in other areas within the competence of local self-government.

The delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina was welcomed by Nikola Tarbuk, Secretary General of SCTM, together with his associates. He presented the activities of the association in representing the interests of local self-government, as well as its activities in the field of public health in the Republic of Serbia.

As part of the study visit, a meeting of the SCTM Health Network was also organized on 25 May, where the colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina had the opportunity to learn more about public health activities carried out by local self-governments in Serbia, as well as to present their own experiences and examples of good practice.

Members of the delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed their satisfaction with the visit and their readiness to continue the good cooperation and exchange of experiences in the future.
