BENEFICIARIES: Direct beneficiaries are the most vulnerable beneficiaries of the "Home Assistance" service (up to 27 new users) from mountainous and remote parts of the Municipality of Ražanj, who are the farthest from medical services and have limited access to healthcare due to the lack of public transportation in the municipality. Indirect beneficiaries include: Municipality of Ražanj, Social Work Center of the Municipality of Ražanj, Health Center Dr. Milorad Mihajlović Ražanj, Association "Sunčev zrak" Ražanj, families of service beneficiaries, and the broader community from the territory of the Municipality of Ražanj.
The project is focused on enhancing health and social support for the most vulnerable residents in rural and remote areas of the Ražanj municipality. The main goal is to establish a new innovative field health service, enabling medical staff to provide direct health care to individuals with increased health risks, especially those living in remote parts of the municipality who lack easy access to health services. Establishing the field service also includes the procurement of vehicles and the engagement of an additional licensed home care assistant, ensuring quick and efficient access to the most vulnerable population categories.
One of the key elements of the project is the expansion of the "Home Assistance" services for beneficiaries with low or no income. This innovative socio-health service takes the existing Home Assistance service and elevates it to a new level by creating a team of doctor – nurse/technician – geriatric aide, bringing complete assistance necessary for them to remain in their homes and avoid institutionalization. The acquisition of a new vehicle and sanitary materials enables the mobility of the new team and the provision of health services on-site without additional costs for the beneficiary. This expansion contributes to the social inclusion and economic sustainability of the most vulnerable residents, providing them with the necessary support in daily life. Additionally, the increased coverage of service beneficiaries will contribute to the better quality of life for sensitive groups.
Media presentations of the project and on-site services are another important aspect of this project. These activities increase public awareness of the available services and attract the attention of potential beneficiaries and donors, thereby securing support for the sustainability of the project.
The project is also significant in terms of developing the infrastructure capacities of the municipality, as the new field service improves access to healthcare in remote and hard-to-reach areas. This pilot of the new field service in collaboration with the Health Center demonstrates the engagement of the local community and creates opportunities for further development of local resources and capacities.
This project directly contributes to the improvement of health and social protection for the most vulnerable residents of the municipality, with a focus on people with low incomes, the elderly, and those living in remote rural areas of Ražanj.
