PROJECT TITLE: Mobile expert assistance as an innovative social service for senior citizens

BENEFICIARIES: Social welfare beneficiaries according to the records of the Center for Social Work in Pirot (65+ years) who live in rural areas, Elderly people who live in rural areas and who will apply for the service via an open telephone line, Other single households in rural areas
The project idea is based on the need to develop a new approach to encompassing social care for the elderly, through direct communication and providing quality social support to the elderly in the rural territory of the city of Pirot, based on forming a team for mobile assistance that will cover their needs.
By developing an innovative inter-sector social protection service, the project aims to improve the quality of life of elderly individuals in rural areas with a special focus on psychological support.
Activities will ensure coverage of the needs of the elderly in rural areas of the local self-government territory, and measures will be taken to improve the skills and capacities of people involved in social protection, including organizing training to enhance the knowledge and skills of members of the mobile team.
By raising public awareness, and especially by training volunteers to work with elderly citizens, the project will contribute to raising the awareness of the local community and encourage people to act responsibly towards older fellow citizens.
The formation of a mobile expert team to support elderly citizens is one of the key activities in the implementation of the project, as it will ensure direct contact with service beneficiaries. The project will procure a vehicle to serve the mobile team for visiting rural areas.
Additionally, beneficiaries will be provided with mobile devices equipped with a new application specially tailored to the needs of elderly individuals in their daily activities.
