PROJECT TITLE: Improvement of Home Care Service in the Municipality of Žitorađa
VALUE: EUR 96,510
DURATION: 12 months
PARTNER: Center for Social Work “Dobrič“
BENEFICIARIES: Elderly people, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups in the territory of the Municipality of Žitorađa
The project "Improvement of the Home Care Service in the Municipality of Žitorađa" aims to enhance the quality of life for elderly people and persons with disabilities through the development and expansion of existing social services. Over the course of 12 months, the Municipality of Žitorađa will provide home care services to a larger number of beneficiaries, with a special focus on those from rural areas and vulnerable groups. The plan includes the engagement of additional expert staff, training of geriatric aides, and improvement of logistical support for service provision, including the procurement of necessary equipment for fieldwork and transportation.
A mobile team of caregivers will be responsible for regularly visiting elderly individuals in the field, providing them with direct assistance in daily activities such as personal hygiene, grocery and medication shopping, household maintenance, and emotional support. This will significantly ease the daily lives of the beneficiaries, allowing them to remain in their homes while preserving their dignity and autonomy. Additionally, through an individualized approach, caregivers will monitor the health status of the beneficiaries and respond in emergencies, contributing to the safety of the beneficiaries and reducing the need for institutional care.
Furthermore, the project will work on better coordination with healthcare institutions, social work centers, and other relevant institutions. These institutions will be involved in the process to ensure complete support for the beneficiaries through a multi-sector approach, which includes both health and social dimensions of assistance. Also, the capacities of the local community to provide sustainable social services will be enhanced through specialized training for geriatric aides and other social protection stakeholders.
The general objective of the project is to reduce the social exclusion of elderly people and persons with disabilities, by providing quality and continuous social support that ensures a more dignified aging and better integration into society.
Expected results include an increase in the number of beneficiaries of home assistance services, enhanced capacities through training and support, more efficient and higher quality social protection, and raising awareness in the local community about the importance of including vulnerable groups.
