PROJECT TITLE: Solidarity in crisis - "Calm corner"
VALUE: EUR 136,777
DURATION: 12 months
PARTNER: Institution for Social Protection Services “Solidarity”
BENEFICIARIES: Beneficiaries of the innovative service of the Institution for Social Protection Services “Solidarity” – elderly people, minors who have run away from home, women with children, victims of domestic violence, people with disabilities without adequate home care and nursing, etc.
The project "Solidarity in Crisis - Calm Corner" promotes the introduction of an innovative temporary shelter service developed according to the needs of the Ruma local community, in line with identified issues related to individuals who find themselves in unforeseen crises without family support or immediate living environment.
The service aims to establish a sense of security as a foundation for further progress and empowerment of beneficiaries, to increase their ability for safe living and integration into the community. The local government, the Ruma Center for Social Work, and the Ruma Police handle an average of about three immediate crisis cases per week that require urgent temporary accommodation and care for individuals seeking support from public authorities in sudden crises, such as victims of domestic violence, minors running away from home, persons with disabilities without guardians or home care, elderly/sick individuals living without adequate home care, young adults, generally - individuals who find themselves in a sudden crisis/social situation.
The innovative CBSS will also be available to individuals who are in the territory of the Ruma municipality, outside their place of residence, and in a state of social need that urgently requires the provision of social protection services and an inter-sector approach. Additionally, the service should focus on assessing needs and potential for using other standardized CBSS or initiating a process to help the beneficiary establish a stable family or independent life, overcome the crisis situation, and maintain sustainable solutions in the future, depending on individual situation assessments.
