PROJECT TITLE: “Fighting Anti-Gypsism in the City of Sombor“

VALUE: EUR 49,728,00

DURATION: 12 months

PARTNER: Center for Production of Knowledge and Skills

BENEFICIARIES: Roma, representatives of local institutions, the private sector, and youth

The "Fighting Anti-Gypsism in the City of Sombor" project is implemented by the City of Sombor in partnership with the Center for Production of Knowledge and Skills (CPZV) from Novi Sad.  The project's goal is to provide effective mechanisms for eradicating discrimination and creating conditions that enable the full inclusion of Roma in society. It fosters cooperation among key local stakeholders, including institutions, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector, to better understand and address the needs of the Roma community.

The target groups covered by this project are:  Roma, representatives of local institutions, the private sector, and youth.

By delivering training for employees from local institutions and the private sector on anti-discrimination measures and understanding anti-Gypsism, our goal is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of local institutions in protecting and enhancing the rights of the Roma community members.  Through performances by the Forum Theatre, created and presented by youth from Roma communities, we aim to raise public awareness about hate speech and prejudices.

The project "Fighting Anti-Gypsism in the City of Sombor" is funded by the European Union as part of the broader project "Support for Sustainable Social Services and Inclusion Policies at the Local Level," implemented by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM).
