BENEFICIARIES: Elderly citizens who require the home assistance service
By implementing the project, the Municipality of Surdulica will enhance social protection services by increasing the number of beneficiaries and improving the quality of the standardized home assistance service, which has been provided to elderly citizens for many years, with varying numbers of beneficiaries and providers.
The Municipality of Surdulica is classified as a devastated area in the 4th group, covers an area of 628 km². According to the 2022 census, it has a population of 16,991. The average age of the population is 44.30 years, and the number of citizens older than 65 years is 3,767 (22.17% of the total population). This demonstrates the need to increase the scope and quality of services aimed at older citizens. The project plans to train and engage 10 new service providers as well as involve existing providers, over a total duration of 6 months. Additionally, the project will conduct monitoring and evaluation of the service effects in the previous period and provide recommendations for improving service quality.
Within the project, a new, innovative service called "Field Family Worker" will be established. This service will be used by families in need of social protection services and requiring information, advice, and other forms of support to function in the community and enhance the quality of life for family members.
